Croatian Luka Modric has been diagnosed with an injury to the posterior thigh of his left leg and the alarms have gone off at Real Madrid, as the team is on the verge of going through the most important moment of the season.
The number 10 of the white team could be out for 10 days, so in principle he will miss the La Liga matches against Almería and Real Sociedad on Saturday, April 29 and Tuesday, May 2 respectively.
Although his appearance is very complicated, in the event that Modric’s evolution is favourable, he could be available for the Copa del Rey final on Saturday, May 6, but it is unlikely that Carlo Ancelotti wants to risk seeing that three days later it will be the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Manchester City.
So far this season, Modric has been lined up by Ancelotti on 44 occasions for a total of 2,768 minutes, being the tenth most used player.
The truth is that 8 days before the Cup final in La Cartuja, Luka Modric’s participation against the other finalist, an inspired Osasuna, is unknown.
The good news for Real Madrid comes from the hand of its star goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who had missed the duel against Girona due to intestinal problems but is now at his best for the next games.
