At least 11 people were injured in South Carolina after a shooting erupted early Saturday morning, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.
The bureau said in a Facebook post that officers were first called to Meadowlake Park in Columbia, South Carolina, based on a report from a group of minors.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located dozens of bullet casings of multiple calibers, but few people were still in the park.
The sheriff’s office said nine people suffered injuries after being struck by gunfire, while one person was found struck by a vehicle, while another suffered hand injuries.
In total, 11 people were injured in the incident, and the victims were between the ages of 16 and 20, Fox News reported.
A man identified as Miquise Fulwiley, 19, another named Ty’Quan Kelly, 18, were taken into custody after officers made a traffic stop, where both detainees, whose car did not have headlights, did not stop. , which sparked a chase.

When officers arrested the two subjects, they received information from dispatch indicating that shooting victims were arriving at area hospitals.
For now, investigators are trying to conclude if a recovered weapon was involved in the shooting at the park. Meanwhile, the sheriff’s office added that the gathering that ended in shooting involved several students from some high schools.
