If you happened to buy a lottery ticket in November while you were in Spokane County, Washington State, you should really check it out. And it is that there is a ticket awarded with $1 million dollars that is about to expire.
The Washington Lottery announced that there is a $1 million dollar winning ticket from the Powerball game. The ticket was purchased in the city of Airway Heights, but will expire in seven days.
Going unclaimed for such a large Powerball prize doesn’t happen very often, said Kristi Weeks of the Washington State Lottery Commission.
“When they win a big jackpot, we always encourage people to consult with a financial planner, consult with a lawyer; plan ahead what you are going to do with this kind of money. So it may be that (winners) are engaging in that kind of pre-planning before submitting the winning ticket,” Weeks said.
Another $10,000 Match 4 game prize that was purchased in Puyallyp is also due in a few weeks.
If the ticket expires, most of the money will go back into the lottery fund, though a third will go to education funds, public infrastructure projects and other projects.
