A few days ago, the departure of the talkative journalist Tucker Carlson from Fox News, the television channel where he has worked since 2009, was confirmed. This news has generated many opinions and even anger among some politicians in the region; however Carlson seems to be taking it pretty cool.
A few days after the announcement, it has been reported that the journalist and his wife, Susan Andrews, have spent $5.5 million dollars for the mansion that is right next to the property that he has owned for years on Gasparilla Island, Florida.
The Carlsons made this purchase through an off-market deal, so no details or photos of the property are available at this time.
What little is known about the new property is that it was built in the 1960s on a 0.28 acre lot. It has a main house of 2,812 square feet distributed on one floor with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, hall, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and other amenities.
Various outlets have claimed that Carlson wants to expand his presence on the island known as the Gulf of Florida. So surely the couple will demolish the newly purchased house and begin to develop a more ambitious project.
The neighboring mansion was bought by the journalist three years ago and it cost him $2.9 million dollars. That main house is just over 3,000 square feet with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, but it is also known that it underwent some transformations on its exterior, more specifically the pool was replaced.
It can be presumed that the couple is developing this large mansion on the island of Florida to retire and live off the luxuries that their inheritance and years of work have allowed them to acquire, since it must be remembered that Carlson has been living in Washington DC.
Although Carlson seems to continue living his life without any problems, Donald Trump said he was shocked by the journalist’s departure from the television channel. On the other hand, Nayib Bukele, president of El Salvador, refused the decision of the television channel to remove the journalist from its programming.
It should also be remembered that the 53-year-old journalist is the co-founder and former editor-in-chief of the website ‘The Daily Caller’. It’s not the first time he’s left a channel’s schedule either, in the past Carlson hosted MSNBC’s ‘Tucker’ and co-hosted CNN’s ‘Crossfire’.
