Xavi Hernández, coach of FC Barcelona, confessed this Monday at a press conference that for the first time in his cycle at the helm of the Blaugranas, he has been enjoying his position since approximately January.
Xavi recalled that his first days as a Barcelona strategist were difficult and suffered, but now he is in a good moment both personally and collectively with his players.
“Since January I have been enjoying as a coach,” said the former player.
In the press conference prior to the league match against Osasuna, Xavi also spoke about what the probable conquest of La Liga represents, which would mean a “very important” title for the club and which “would give a lot of stability”, he pointed out.
“Being where we are has a lot of merit, we have already taken a Spanish Super Cup from Real Madrid, we are still in a construction process, although people do not want to listen to it, but you have to build by winning,” he recalled.
The mirror for Xavi is Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. “The best team in the world,” said the Barça coach, who pointed out that the English team “has the best coach.”
All in all, the Catalan team will have enough to add eight points in the next six games to mathematically seal the title, although, if Real Madrid plays on the next two dates and Barcelona adds six points, they could sing the alirón on the next 14th of May at the RCDE Stadium against Espanyol.
