covid:-all-johnson-&-johnson-vaccines-have-expired-in-the-united-states

After having put an end to the health emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no more Johnson & Johnson vaccines in the United States, this because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) They requested to destroy all the doses that had not been administered, since they expired on Sunday, May 7.

On its website, the CDC published a statement explaining that it recommends that people who have received one or 2 doses of Johnson & Johnson’s Covid vaccine apply a bivalent booster from Moderna or Pfizer.

According to CNN data, around 19 million people have received doses of said vaccine since it went on the market in the country. The federal government made more than 31 million doses available to the states and about 12 million remained unused.

In addition, last year regulators limited the number of people who could access the vaccine, establishing that only those who for medical reasons could not receive doses from other manufacturers would be vaccinated with the Janssen formula.

The US accumulates the highest number of deaths from the disease in the world: more than one million people since the pandemic began. During the week ending May 6 (the last week for which there are records), 323 people died, according to the CDC.
