javier-zanetti-fears-for-inter's-rival-“i-hope-madrid-doesn't-play-because-it-seems-like-a-competition-made-for-them”

The vice president of Inter, the Argentine Javier Zanetti, is linking his fingers so that his team does not face Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

During an interview with Sky Sport, on the Giuseppe Meazza pitch, Zanetti stated that he does not want Madrid to be the opponent to face, because of the great chances they have of winning.

“This group deserved to play a ‘Champions’ final after 13 years. But I hope it doesn’t touch Madrid because it seems like a competition made for them,” he said at the end of the match against Milan on Tuesday.

The manager also praised the work of his players, who gave their all to play in the last instance of the Champions League.

In particular, he congratulated Lautaro Martínez, whom he described as the hero of the match that they won by the slightest difference thanks to his goal at minute 74′.

“Very happy for him, he is having an extraordinary career. He is growing and now he is a very important reference in the team”, said Zanetti about the Argentine attacker.

“He is very happy here, he has found his home, his family, they are happy to be at Inter and I hope they can be for longer,” he added.

Despite not believing that they will face Real Madrid in the final, he considers that Inter is a fairly strong team that has achieved great things.

“This is a team that hasn’t made noise and is deservedly in the final,” he said.
