The left back of FC Barcelona, Alejandro Balde, ended his career in the Spanish League this Sunday and not precisely because of the end of the season for him and his family, but because of a serious injury he suffered during the match between the Catalans and Mallorca.
A serious tackle from Amath Ndiaye at minute 14 of the commitment ended Balde’s performance in the match, having to be replaced by Sergi Roberto who came off the bench.
The violent sweep towards the young promise was automatically felt by the Spaniard, who fell to the ground and immediately shed tears from the strong pain of the impact.
In the end, Ndiaye received a direct red card for the aggressive sweep but in the end Balde could not continue and after leaving the pitch he was attended by the Catalan team’s doctors who immobilized his joint and asked him to use crutches to avoid a major incident.
After the match, FC Barcelona announced on social networks that Balde’s injury corresponded to a partial rupture of the ligaments in his right ankle.
The estimated recovery time is between six and seven weeks, which could jeopardize his debut in the upcoming 2023-2024 season with Barcelona.
