Ruby Evans, who lives in Southern California, was shocked to discover that her lottery ticket had a $2 million prize. However, at first she, the woman, thought that she had earned much less money.
The lucky woman bought a Crossword Scratch-Off ticket at a store called Sweet Time Donuts in the city of Compton.
The woman scratched off the ticket and at first thought she had won a $2,000 prize.
However, when he returned to the store to get the form he had to fill out to collect the money, the store owner scanned the ticket and the machine told him that the prize was not actually $2,000, but $2. millions.
“I’ll tell you what, this is a great blessing. It gives me the chance to pay my bills, my mortgage and help my daughters,” the lucky winner told state lottery officials as she went to collect her prize, WSAZ 3 reported.
Evans said he had previously won a $5,000 prize with a lottery ticket he bought at the same store.
The store owner will be paid $10,000 just for selling the $2 million ticket.
