A man was arrested on Sunday in connection with the murder of his 2-year-old son, whom he allegedly killed during an argument at his parents’ house the same night, according to official reports.
Officers with the St. Petersburg Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at a home located on 15th Avenue South around 8:10 p.m. Sunday, FOX 13 Tampa reported.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a subject identified as 22-year-old Aaron Creary and his parents had an argument with his parents, which escalated when the suspect began brandishing a weapon, then shot and wounded his son. Armani, 2 years old.
At this, Creary tried to take the little Armani to the hospital, but then lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a car parked in front of a building located at 34th Street South and 15th Avenue South, according to police.
Following the crash, the boy was eventually taken to the local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
Meanwhile, Creary was charged with aggravated murder of a child and violation of probation.
According to Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office jail records, Creary was booked into the county jail and remains in custody with bail set at $750,000.
