The reactions continue after the resounding fall of Chivas de Guadalajara in the final of the Liga MX. The singer of corridos lying down, Featherweight, went to his social networks to mock the Sacred Flock after the 3-2 defeat against the UANL Tigres, the team that won the Clausura 2023 tournament.
Emilio Kabande Laija, the Featherweight’s given name, addressed the way Chivas let victory slip away and how the Tigres overcame an initial two-goal loss to end up scoring in overtime with a well-timed header from Guido Pizarro. “Damn team, all stupid”, reads a meme shared by the interpreter who is a fan of Atlas, archrival of the Guadalajara team.
This generated various reactions on Twitter, where several users supported the singer’s message, while others said that he was “hurt” by his past in Chivas Rayadas.
Could Featherweight have played for Chivas?
A few months ago, the interpreter of “Ella baila sola” revealed in the podcast of the player of the rojiblanco team, Jesús Angulo, that in his adolescence he was part of the Chivas youth team and that he could have had the opportunity to debut in the first division.
“My dream was always to be a soccer player (…) I played as a right midfielder, I was a runner (…) I played in basic, there in Verde Valle I played with José Juan (Macías),” said Doble P, who also expressed that his lack of discipline kept him away from the sport.
José Juan Macías, the renowned Chivas center forward, confirmed in the same podcast that Featherweight played with him during his time in the basic forces and that he had quality: “Your name is Hasan, right? I even remember his mom. Of course he played in inferiors with me. When you uploaded it to your podcast, I got in because I saw his face and he became super familiar to me (…) I swear he was great ”.
