A man was fatally shot and a woman was wounded after a fight at a party led to gunfire on a Brooklyn street plagued by violent crime, authorities said.
The shooting took place shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Drew St. near Loring Avenue in East New York, just yards from where two men were fatally shot in July of last year.
In the event on Saturday, Delvin Díaz, 33, was seriously injured after several shots were fired at him, while a 31-year-old woman was grazed by bullets in the shoulder.
The shooting was caused after an altercation broke out during a party at Diaz’s building on Drew St., officials said.
Paramedics transported the victims to Brookdale University Hospital, where Diaz was pronounced dead, the Daily News reported.
The woman is in stable condition after receiving treatment, police said.
So far, nothing has been done related to this case.
On July 4, 2022, Sulaiman Odunfa, 21, and Amor Green, 19, were fatally shot at a deli at Drew St. and Loring Avenue. Another 18-year-old man was wounded but survived the shooting.
The New York Police Department arrested two suspects, identified as Dayshawn Vaughns, 22, and Malachai Kirkland, 19, who were charged with murder.
