The expectation continues in Boston for the feared game seven. After becoming the fourth team in NBA history to force the last game after a 3-0 deficit in the playoff series, the Boston Celtics are stalking the Miami Heat and want to continue making history with a team led by by a Jayson Tatum who is very close to breaking a personal record.
And it is that Tatum is one game away from snatching a playoff record in a season from LeBron James. With his performance in Game 6 of the conference finals, the forward added his seventh game of 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the 2023 NBA Playoffs for which, according to ESPN Stats, he tied LeBron James (Cavaliers in 2018) with the most games with those numbers in the postseason
In Game 6 against the Miami Heat, the offense was led by Tatum, who had 31 points on 8-of-22 shots from long range and 15-of-15 fouls. This allowed him to reach the 500-point barrier in this year’s playoffs and he became the youngest athlete to reach 500 consecutive points in the NBA finals. He also becomes the second Celtics player to achieve that mark in multiple postseasons, joining Larry Bird. The legend in the Playoffs continues to grow.
If they win the last game of the series, the Boston Celtics will become the first team in NBA history to come back from 3-0 in a playoff series. For their part, those from Miami were very close to qualifying, after placing one point up (102-103) three seconds from the end of game six thanks to three free throws by Jimmy Butler. Game seven of the series between Miami and Boston will be played this Monday night (8:30 PM ET).
