Financial education is vital for people to keep their finances in balance and that is why Carlos “Charlie” Hernández founded Crediverso in 2019, in response to the lack of financial information and resources for the community.
Since financial information and access is the first step to financial opportunity, Crediverso has made it a goal to provide the necessary resources to enable families and communities to navigate the financial landscape with confidence and ease.
Crediverso is a financial-focused technology company, created by Latinos for Latinos with solutions to help the entire family prosper, a situation that becomes important when 3 in 10 Hispanic adults are unbanked.
Since its launch, Crediverso has been on a mission to improve the economic prosperity of Latinos, which is why earlier this month, it launched its Learning Center, an online library of financial education resources in English and Spanish, including a comprehensive glossary of financial terminology.
The site has important information that the Latino community in the US should know:
Free Small Business Registration Guide
· The different types of taxes in the US financial system.
· Reflection material for Latina women entrepreneurs
· Information to manage personal finances in times of uncertainty
How to protect personal information online
How to avoid financial scams
· Comparison of sending remittances
· Comparison of credit cards, among other topics
Los Angeles native Carlos “Charlie” Hernandez is the grandson and son of Hispanic immigrants and grew up not only hearing stories, but also seeing firsthand how the US financial system affected the Hispanic immigrant experience. Carlos has always been aware that this system was not designed for the Hispanic or Spanish-speaking community, despite the fact that these people represent 20% of the population of the United States.
Carlos is a student at Harvard Business and Law School. He is a registered attorney with the American Bar Association in California and a licensed real estate broker with the California Bureau of Real Estate. Before launching Crediverso, he served as Director of Latin America and the Caribbean for MGM Resorts International.
