oscar-de-la-hoya-predicts-who-will-win-the-match-between-terence-crawford-and-errol-spence

The renowned boxing promoter, Óscar de la Hoya, caused controversy this Sunday by offering his forecast on who he thinks will be the winner of the important fight that will take place between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence for the undisputed world welterweight championship on next July 29.

This fight was announced a couple of days ago and has generated a lot of expectation by facing two of the most important figures in this category, reaching the point of earning the looks of ‘The Golden Boy’.

“I really feel like Crawford and Spence are great fighters. But in my humble opinion, Crawford has superior ability. He has a better arsenal inside the ring, ”said Óscar de la Hoya during an interview offered for Fight Hub.

These statements by the historic boxer are not unusual, since he had previously announced a prognosis in which he assured that Terence Crawford was a favorite to beat Errol Spence in this fight for which no date had been announced until last Friday.

“(My opinion) hasn’t changed because they haven’t fought since I gave my prediction that Crawford win. And I really believe that nothing has changed, except that they are both getting old. They are getting old as we speak,” added the boxing promoter.

To end his interview, Óscar de la Hoya took the opportunity to explain the reasons why he believes that Crawford would be the winner of the match.

“You don’t have to be a genius to know who the better fighter is. I think Crawford still has the skill, the boxing resources and the intelligence in the ring. You can still see it, ”said The Golden Boy when explaining why he preferred Crawford as the winner.

“Don’t get me wrong, Spence is a great fighter. We built it in Golden Boy. Spence has a great chance to knock Crawford out if he gets caught. He has tremendous punch, and tremendous intelligence. But I think Crawford has better footwork. He knows how to side-step out, he knows how to step in and out, and jump on the balls of his feet, and he knows how to punch in flurries. You can’t win a fight by throwing one or two punches, if your opponent Crawford is going to throw four, five or six punches, then obviously he’s going to take the rounds and win the fight just like Lomachenko and Haney did.”
