The singer Tina Turner died in Küsnacht, Switzerland, the city where she lived with her husband Erwin Bach. The queen of Rock & Roll left her life in the United States when she separated from her first partner, fellow musician Ike Turner.
He returned to the United States only for special events and activities, but not to live. She aside, she left her mansion in Los Angeles, California, where she lived terrifying moments with her first husband, who mistreated her physically and psychologically.
Although he stayed in Switzerland, the music star invested in other mansions in Europe. After his death, the specialized magazine ‘Architectural Digest’ has recalled the mansion on the French Riviera where Turner liked to go to relax, be with his loved ones and read.
The magazine entered Turner’s home in the year 2000. By this time, Turner was already living in Switzerland, although he had not purchased the impressive mansions he had at the time of his death. It should be remembered that a year and a half before his death, he paid $76 million dollars for a mansion in Switzerland.
The most surprising thing about the star’s villa in France was that it had nothing to do with the brightness and color of the settings. The whole place is pretty neutral, even in the magazine it is said that there was not a single piece of sequined clothing in the dressing room of her room.
It should also be taken into account that this property was his vacation residence, the place where he went to rest and see the sea.
Turner told ‘Architectural Digest’: “My work is noisy, but my life is quiet. I need nature and solitude, they nourish me. My idea of a vacation is to read a book on the terrace while my boyfriend prepares dinner for us.”
Among the decoration, one could notice part of the Chinese art that he collected. The decoration of the interior of the house was in charge of the designers Stephen Sills and James Huniford.
Turner bought that villa because of the tranquility he felt being there. The property was built on top of a hill, between two mountains. He could live among big trees.
