The victory this Sunday of the Kansas City Royals 3-2 over the Washington Nationals left one of the most epic scenes so far in the 2023 season in the Major Leagues and all thanks to a home run by Venezuelan Edward Olivares.
During the eighth inning and before shipments from Chad Kuhl, Olivares fished a pitch that stayed in the danger zone and sent the ball flying out of the park on a gruesome 452-foot drive that served to tie the game 2-2.
But what seemed to be one more home run ended in an anecdotal play because the ball ended up hitting the screen at Kauffman Stadium, home of Kansas City, and managed to damage the pixels in the area where the ball bounced.
Fans standing close to the impact zone couldn’t believe their eyes on the completely unusable screen on the bottom right.
In addition, the ball left the area fuming although the rest of the giant television continued to function without problems.
In the early day of this Monday they had not solved the problem of the screen, but as a cabal the Royals, who have a record of 17-38, won their second game in a row for the fourth time this season by winning 7-0 to St.Louis Cardinals.
