dani-carvajal-talks-about-his-legendary-status-at-real-madrid:-“having-won-five-champions-leagues-is-something-fantastic”

Dani Carvajal, a winger for Real Madrid and the national team, spoke about some of the important moments in his career and acknowledged that he is not “aware of the value of having won five Champions Leagues and that over time it will give him “even more value”.

Carvajal, who is currently the fourth captain of Real Madrid, spoke about the youngsters and their arrival in elite sport.

“Imagining being in the Madrid first team was already a dream for me. So to have won five Champions Leagues, to be in one of the golden eras of the club, is something fantastic. And I think that with time I will give it even more value. I am not aware of everything that I am achieving” said Carvajal at the presentation ceremony as Ok Mobility ambassador.

“The new generations are much more self-confident, now everything is much closer. But it is true that, because of the way society is now, between social networks, they want to be footballers at the age of 15 or 16, and there are many who are confused, ”explained Carvajal.

“When I went up to the first team I saw Iker and Cristiano as unattainable beings and just by saying hello you were dying of shame,” he added.

The man from Madrid also spoke about the new competition formats such as the Super League.

“People want matches of the highest level as happens in tennis, basketball or the Super Bowl,” he said.

“Our president (Florentino Pérez), due to the experience he has in business, makes calculations, and together with his team they are seeing that difficult times are coming,” observed Carvajal.

“It is being seen that the financial tickets are quite high for young people and that watching football is being lost among those under 30 years of age. There is not so much audience, television rights are going to drop, everything is going up… A negative balance is difficult to combat”, concluded Dani Carvajal.
