Martín Muniz, accused of killing three relatives and another man and wounding a girl in a shooting in Ohio in January, has now also been linked to a New Jersey homicide that happened a decade ago, authorities said.

Muniz, 41, was indicted in Cuyahoga County, Ohio earlier this year on multiple counts of aggravated murder, as well as attempted murder, assault and other crimes in the January 13, 2023 shooting in Cleveland.

The coroner’s office identified three people declared dead at the scene as Miguel González, 69, father of the defendant; Angélica González (34) his sister, and his nephew Jayden Baez (16). A 48-year-old man later died at a hospital and his 8-year-old daughter was seriously injured.

Now Camden County (New Jersey) prosecutors say that after his arrest in Cleveland, Muñiz “provided information” that resulted in him being charged with first-degree murder in the Oct. 30 death of Jaime Molina, 45. of 2013.

A gun seized from Muniz during an arrest matched a casing found near Molina’s body, according to a probable cause statement in support of the charge against him in New Jersey.

Muñiz is being held in Ohio. Cleveland police alleged in a criminal affidavit that he shot each of the victims in the head in a different room in a house in the Brooklyn Center neighborhood. He then flagged down a police patrol and directed officers to the scene.

Meanwhile, in New Jersey authorities said they had been investigating for nearly a decade after Molina was found shot on a street. His wife said in 2014 that she believed drug addiction may have played a role in his death.

All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
