If the river sounds it is because it brings stones. Rumors continue to grow about the return of Argentine Lionel Messi to the club he loves, FC Barcelona, with a possible financial move between the Blaugrana club and Inter Miami of Major League Soccer (MLS).
And it is that according to the French newspaper L’Équipe announced this Wednesday, the Argentine star’s sole objective is to return to Barcelona despite having received an astronomical offer of $ 1,500 million dollars for two seasons from Al Hilal de Saudi Arabia.
“Blaugranas and Americans (Inter Miami) want to close an agreement in which Messi would sign for the MLS team and play a loan for Barcelona for six to 18 months, so he could be part of the culé team next season in the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys”, reads the article shared by the French sports media.
What is clear is that the future of the world champion is not in Paris and that the offer from Al Hilal, despite being the most attractive financially, does not fully convince the Argentine whose possible last game with Paris Saint-Germain will be this Saturday. The French team received him on August 10, 2021 with a contract for two seasons plus an additional one that apparently will not be used.
Xavi on Messi: “If he wants to come to Barça, we will do everything for him to come”
For his part, the coach of FC Barcelona, Xavi Hernández, said in an interview with the communicator Jordi Grau, on TV3’s Gol a Gol program, that the return of Lionel Messi “depends on him, if he wants to come to Barça, we will do everything for it to come.”
“I think the conditions are right, at the football level I think it could help us a lot, there is no doubt there (…) At the institutional level there is no doubt either and it would even help us financially (…) I have a friendly relationship with Leo, we congratulate each other when he plays and he always looks at Barça, and I look at Argentina and PSG. We appreciate if he can join football and could help us, I have no doubt, ”, said Xavi in the interview.
