shooting-in-pennsylvania-leaves-three-dead:-two-of-the-victims-were-children-of-8-and-9-years-of-age

Three dead. That was the result of a shooting that occurred in the state of Pennsylvania on Tuesday night, according to state police officials. Two of the victims were children, according to the CBS News network.

The victims were an eight-year-old boy, a nine-year-old boy and a 19-year-old boy. So far, their identities have not been publicly revealed.

The event occurred outside a house in the city of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, according to statements by Mayor Sherry Capello at a press conference reviewed by CBS News.

“These types of shootings are unacceptable. As a mother, I cannot express how hurt I am for the families. I can’t imagine what these families are going through right now,” Capello said, according to CBS News.

In addition to the deceased victims, a 33-year-old man was injured, and was treated at a medical center.

Police officers arrived at the scene around 10:00 PM this Tuesday. They found, at that time, one of the deceased victims. The other two were pronounced dead after being taken to local hospitals.

The city’s police chief, Bret Fisher, indicated that the possibility is being considered that one of the victims was intentionally attacked, while the other two were collateral victims. However, CBS News reported that the official did not specify which victim the criminal targeted, nor did he elaborate on the motive for the shooting.

So far, the investigation remains open, although Fisher noted that a person of interest was arrested by the Lebanon County SWAT Team, but for a matter other than the shooting. This was reported by CBS News.

The identity of this person of interest has not yet been released.

It is also unknown how many people are being investigated for their alleged link to the shooting.
