This Wednesday, the White House affirmed that it does not support attacks inside Russia or the use of US equipment to carry them out, after this week the capital of Moscow was attacked by a series of drones. This would be the first massive bombardment in the Russian capital and the second, after a drone attacked the Kremlin headquarters earlier this month.
US government spokeswoman Karine-Jean Pierre told the media that they are still gathering information about this incident to get a better perspective and some clarity on what happened in Moscow. Despite the fact that the attack was in residential areas of the Russian capital, so far the Kremlin spokesmen have mentioned not having a special plan for this situation.
The spokeswoman stressed that the United States is focused on providing help to Ukraine to recover its territory invaded by Russia, and ordered by President Vladimir Putin, for which she added that the Joe Biden government does not support the use of US equipment to carry out carried out aggressions on Russian soil. “I can speak about this in a general way and as a general matter, and as we have said before, we do not support attacks inside Russia,” Jean Pierre said.
Earlier this month, Russia mentioned that the possible shipment of F-16 jets to Ukraine by the Western allies and the United States may be a maneuver with high potential for being dangerous. Given this, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, assured that his counterpart, Volodimir Zelenski, and his Army will not use American-made combat fighters against targets within Russian territory.
According to the head of the White House, Zelensky will not use the F-16s “to go ahead and move against Russia on its geographic territory. Another thing is if the Russian troops are inside the Ukrainian area.” In addition, the US president told the G7 that he will help train Ukrainian pilots in handling F-16 fighters.
