Despite this, the gunner maintained that he is not satisfied with this new title and that he wants to win one more championship before finishing his career in Mexican football, according to President Mauricio Culebro.
“He has two years left on his contract and still finishing the game on Sunday, he approached me and told me that, when we renewed the contract, that he had to win two more championships, and he told me on Sunday: ‘we already won one, we need another’ and it is André’s mentality and we work on that, to be able to comply with what he said”, Culebro said during an interview for Fox Sports.
The leader of the cat team also took the opportunity to talk about the future of the Mexican Diego Lainez, who is on loan from Betis, and hopes to keep him in his ranks for a long-term project.
“Diego Lainez’s issue is a loan with a purchase option that is obligatory once he meets a certain number of games with Tigres, I don’t know the exact number, but the idea is for him to stay. Diego when we brought him, we had it planned in the long term. He arrived on Matchday 5, without preseason, not playing in Europe, in a difficult emotional moment and we knew that it would be calm, patient, giving him confidence and he has gained that confidence with the games, ”added the manager.
“What concerns me is having an institution that is always fighting at the highest level, not only in sports, we also have a strategic plan for the next five years and the fundamental part is sports, but it is important to have great management , in the development of basic forces, to obtain more income and what interests me is that it becomes as a team one of the largest in Latin America and for that we work ”, he concluded.
