The Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, who defends the colors of Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, sent a message to the great soccer stars to encourage them to play in the Arab country.
CR7 stated in an interview that in the coming years the Saudi Arabian league will be among the top five in the world.
“If big players come, big names, young players, old… They are welcome because if that happens, the league will improve. Age is not important,” Cristiano told the Saudi state television channel Al Ejbariya.
In addition, Cristiano put to rest the rumors of his possible withdrawal from the Arab league by stating that he wants to continue playing there.
This is despite not having fulfilled his expectations of winning the league title, which he hopes to achieve next season.
“I want to continue here, I will continue here. And I think that if they continue to do it the way they want to do it, in the next few years the Saudi league can be among the top five in the world,” Ronaldo said.
Although he considers that Saudi Arabia has great footballing quality, he also clarifies that it has “many opportunities to grow”.
“I think it is necessary to improve the infrastructure, the referees and even the VAR system, which would have to be faster,” criticized the Portuguese.
