It’s not about “good food”

“It’s not about ‘good food, bad food’ for weight loss,” said Maginnis, who notes that reducing food portion sizes is one way to lose weight, though she also acknowledges that there are other nutrient-dense food options. for the brain and the body in general.

It’s all about “portion control, having a plan and having some responsibility,” said Maginnis, who is feeling motivated and plans to stick to his diet. He points out that he will eat “half a plate to lose weight, three quarters of a plate to maintain weight.”

Healthy diet

Calorie reduction is an effective approach to weight control, although food quality is also important for good health.

Harvard Health explains that a healthy diet favors natural, unprocessed foods over prepackaged meals and snacks. Emphasize plant-based foods, especially fruits and vegetables, over animal-based foods. It contains a lot of protein.

The healthy diet is low in sugar and salt. It incorporates “healthy fats” which include fish, olive oil, and other plant-derived oils.

The World Health Organization also recommends limiting your intake of calories from total fats and sugars.
