Shakira and Featherweight have been two of Bizarrap’s most recent guests at his famous studio, the one that personalities such as Residente, Arcángel, Cazzu and Paulo Londra have also passed through.
After the recent premiere of the Featherweight session with the famous Argentine producer, some similarities have been pointed out between this song and the rhymes that Shakira starred in a few months ago in the midst of the scandal over her separation from Gerard Piqué, a product of the infidelity she had with Clara Chia Marti.
Both songs narrate stories of heartbreak, but marked by some differences: what Shakira sings is an experience that she lived in her own flesh, while what is sung by Featherweight does not even mention the recipient of her song.
Another of the coincidences is that both say that after their love disappointments they have been able to earn money. Shakira left us the famous phrase “women don’t cry, women bill” and Featherweight, although she has not brought such a forceful and catchy phrase to the table, she says that since that love left her everything changed and she even got all her new luxuries.
In this song, Featherweight shows off his lavish trips, jewelry, his taste for champagne and the expensive price he paid for his luxurious Patek Philippe watch. We also had this reference to the watch with Shakira, but in this case the Colombian assured that she is a luxurious Rolex and that they exchanged it for a Casio. Both are well-known watch brands that have been successful in different targets for many years.
Featherweight Sessions
In just 17 hours the theme of Featherweight in collaboration with Bizarrap has achieved more than 15 million views. The song has received many positive comments on the Youtube channel.
“The featherweight session is the one that returns the most to the origins of the sessions, an artist showing what he knows how to do with his own style”, “PP’s joy is contagious! I love it”, “Woow I don’t listen to Featherweight, but how hard the emotion of feeling accomplished is seen!” and “How happy the featherweight is with this achievement, iron Mexican pride” were some of those messages.
