they-could-change-the-referee-of-the-champions-league-final-for-attending-a-far-right-demonstration

A tremendous controversy revolves around the referee, Szymon Marciniak, who had been chosen to whistle the Champions League final between Inter and Manchester City.

It turns out that the judge recently participated in a demonstration by a far-right party and for this reason he could be sanctioned with a ban on whistling on June 10 in Istanbul.

According to the information published by the Italian newspaper ‘La Repubblica’, UEFA opened a file against the referee for his participation with the political group that would be famous for its racist, xenophobic and anti-Semitic positions.

The media indicated that in the next few hours UEFA will make a decision in relation to this case, which is firmly condemned, due to the ideas of the group in question.

The demonstration that Marcianiak was at was organized by Slawomir Mentzen, leader of the far-right party, Konfedaracja. And it was held on May 29 in the town of Katowice.

One of the most delicate points of the situation is that the referee wore the official FIFA kit to attend the event called “Everest”.

That is why this Friday UEFA is expected to rule, and it is known if Marcianiak will whistle, or not, the Champions League final.
