A video captured the moment President Joe Biden trips and falls during a graduation ceremony at the United States Air Force Academy.
The president of the United States, who is already 80 years old, was helped by three people and returned to his seat after his new fall in Colorado.
As the US president was helped up, he pointed to a spot behind him on the ground, appearing to indicate what he tripped over.
White House communications director Ben LaBolt said Biden was doing well, CNN reports. “There was a punching bag on the stage while he was shaking hands,” he later said on his Twitter account.
Biden, who was on his feet for much of the hour-long ceremony to shake hands with graduates, appeared to trip over something and fell to his knees towards the end as he handed over the final diploma.
He was aided by an Air Force officer, as well as two members of the United States Secret Service. The spectators, including some members of the official delegation on the stage, looked worried before the leader returned to his seat.
In his address in Colorado Springs to more than 900 cadets, the US commander-in-chief warned graduates they will be entering service in an increasingly unstable world, citing challenges from Russia and China.
It is worth mentioning that President Joe Biden is running for re-election in 2024.
Speaking on the campaign trail in Iowa, the frontrunner in the Republican nomination race, Donald Trump, said the fall was “uninspiring,” adding that “everything is crazy.”
