Who would think that eating McDonald’s food for several days can make you lose weight? Surely no one and quite the opposite, it is very likely that the first thing that comes to mind is that if you eat hamburgers, fries and nuggets for a long time, the only thing you will gain is several pounds.
However, a Nashville grandfather named Kevin Maginnis has come out to say that by following a “McDonald’s diet” for over 3 months he lost over 58 pounds.
Kevin wanted to lose weight and in early 2023 he started a diet that has given him good results. For 100 days, the man was eating McDonald’s hamburgers and fries, whereupon he went from 238 pounds to 179.5, which means he lost 58.5 pounds.
The story of this 57-year-old man went viral after he recounted his experience on NBC’s “Today Show.”
But of course, not everything was so simple. According to Maginnis, the secret that led him to lose weight with McDonald’s food is that he only ate half of the food provided by this fast food restaurant and instead of drinking soda he drank water.
“Because I ate so little, I was always hungry when the next meal came around,” Maginnis said, noting that it’s also important to stop thinking about what you’re eating and focus more on portions.
Similarly, after losing weight, the grandfather underwent blood tests, discovering that his triglycerides and cholesterol had dropped considerably.
His diet was such a success that his wife has followed in his footsteps and started eating McDonald’s 65 days ago, which has made him lose 18 pounds.
