Video footage shows a Ryanair passenger being thrown off the plane for smoking in the bathroom.
The incident was reported Tuesday on a flight that left Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and landed in Manchester, England.
Allegedly, the passenger left the restroom about 20 minutes after the plane took off.
The recording initially released by the Manchester Evening News shows the man, who is wearing a gray T-shirt, shorts, a baseball cap and flip-flops, escorted out by police officers who boarded the plane on the runway at the English airport.
“The crew of this flight from Palma to Manchester called ahead for police assistance, after a passenger was discovered smoking on board,” the airline confirmed in a statement to Insider.
“The passenger was removed from the plane by local officers on landing at Manchester airport. This is now a matter for the local police”, they pointed out.
Another passenger told the British media that the flight officers could smell the smoke from the toilet.
The subject was exposed by name to the rest of the passengers.
“I was really pleased that they called his name and embarrassed him. If you want to smoke and you put 180 souls at risk on board, then they should say your name and shame you, ”considered the traveler who was with his two daughters.
