5-states-that-will-give-stimulus-checks-in-june

During the month of June, there are still some states that will send direct payments to support their residents. We have provided the list of these states below so you can be aware if you are eligible to receive one of these checks.

1.Illinois

The deadline to apply for the Illinois Income Tax Refund and Property Tax Refund was October 17, 2022.

The vast majority of those payments have already been made, but according to the state Comptroller’s Office, the payments will continue to be made through the month of June until they are all completed.

2.Idaho

In March and September 2022, Idaho shipped Tax Refunds and Special Session Refunds. These payments have been processed for residents who filed their tax returns within the established deadline.

However, for people who applied for extensions or filed their returns later, refunds are still in process until the summer of 2023.

3.Maine

Similar to most states, the deadline to request a state refund has expired. The last day Maine residents could apply for the Winter Energy Relief Payment was October 31, 2022.

Payments started in January 2023 and have practically been completed. However, if you are eligible for a payment but have not yet received it, you still have until June 30 to contact the State Tax Assessor and prove your eligibility.

Eligible individuals who are approved will have the ability to receive a refund through September 30, 2023.

4.Massachusetts

In November 2022, Massachusetts began issuing state tax refunds, and these payments are nearly complete. Eligible taxpayers were entitled to receive a refund of 14.0312% of their Massachusetts state tax liability for the year 2021.

Taxpayers who file their tax returns late have until September 15, 2023 to do so and still be eligible for the refund. Once the state processes your returns, the refund will be paid out approximately one month later.

5.Montana

Montana is currently the only state implementing a new stimulus package for the second half of 2023.

Residents may be eligible for a property tax rebate of up to $675.

Property tax refunds must be applied for online or by mail within the period from August 15 to October 1, 2023.
