Timothy Taylor, suspected of killing his pregnant girlfriend and ex-wife within two weeks in New York, was arrested yesterday in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) by members of the US Marshals Service after his phone was traced up there.
Taylor, 35, was detained in a Philadelphia jail and extradition proceedings began yesterday to bring him back to New York on murder charges. That process could take about a week, the sources told the newspaper. Daily News.
NYPD was on Taylor’s trail for questioning in the death of his girlfriend Theresa Gregg, with whom he lived in an apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The 37-year-old woman was pregnant and was an officer with the city’s Department of Homeless Services (DHS). Her twin teenage daughters found her stabbed to death in her bedroom on the morning of May 13, the eve of Mother’s Day.
A next-door neighbor reported hearing frequent arguments coming from the apartment. The couple had been fighting all night before, the twins told police. A bloody screwdriver was recovered next to Gregg’s body.
Taylor is also a person of interest in another alleged homicide, that of his ex-wife who was found dead on Sunday, May 28, police said. An alleged domestic dispute between the suspect and Tishawn Folke-Taylor occurred in Schenectady, where the victim lived, 164 miles north of NYC. The 44-year-old woman died of a blow, apparently.
All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
