Leo Messi played his last game as a Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) player this Saturday, which ended with a 2-3 defeat against Clermont Foot, a result that marked the end of a cycle full of more conflicts than joys, something which was reflected in the booing of some fans in the Parque de los Príncipes against the Argentine.
Messi started the last game of the season whose most important point was his farewell and that of the Spanish Sergio Ramos, since they had already won the league. The central defender was precisely in charge of opening the scoring at minute 16 with an assist from Vitinha, and 5 minutes later, Kylian Mbappé joined the party with a goal from the penalty spot.
Until then, everything seemed to be going the right way, however, Clermont sought to react quickly and took advantage of some errors in the back of the Parisian team to discount at 24′ through Johan Gastien and then tie at 45+1 with a Mehdi Zeffane’s score to go into the break with a score of 2-2.
The second half took place with a PSG visibly stunned by the two goals from their rival, something that was seen on several occasions missed by the Parisians, including one from ‘La Pulga’ who sent the ball over the arc in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper after a perfect pass from Mbappé.
Those who did not fail were the players of the visiting team, who took advantage of PSG’s mental errors and managed to consummate their comeback with a goal from Grejohn Kyei at minute 63. From then on, the Parisians tried to turn the score around but it was impossible despite multiple attempts.
Boos to Messi, once again
‘La Pulga’ could not escape a last act of rejection by some PSG fans against him. And it is that in the presentation of the starting lineup, the fans present in the stadium began to boo him when the internal voice of the stadium announced his name and later, when he jumped onto the pitch.
It should be noted that, a few hours before the game, the Parque de los Príncipes team had announced on their social networks, the confirmation that this would be the last game of the captain of the Argentine team, as a player of their squad.
Messi ends his two-season cycle with PSG, with three titles, a total of 74 games in which he scored 32 goals and 3 assists in all competitions (Ligue 1, Champions League and French Cup).
