Authorities in Florida reported this Saturday the arrest of two new people involved in the mass shooting that occurred last Monday in Hollywood Beach, Florida, where nine people were injured, including four minors.
According to local police, the arrest of two involved in the shooting were included in connection with the Memorial Day celebration, when two groups fought on the beach promenade, local media reported.
Jordan Burton, Ariel Cardahn Paul and Lionel Jean Charles, received charges of attempted first-degree murder, eight additional charges of attempted second-degree murder, and another charge of carrying concealed firearms, the EFE news agency reported.
It was learned that Burton was already arrested, while the authorities worked to find the whereabouts of Paul and Charles, who remained fugitives.
Four of the victims of the shooting are minors, between the ages of 1 and 17, in addition to adults between the ages of 25 and 65.
Of the total number of injured, seven people were discharged from the hospital and another two are still hospitalized in stable condition.
In addition to the three recent warrants, two men were previously arrested and identified as Morgan Deslouches and Keshawn Paul Stewart, both 18 years old.
According to witnesses in testimonies to local media, a group of young people were fighting on the promenade when one of them pulled out a firearm and started shooting, causing people to run in terror to avoid the bullets.
The events occurred in a context in which the Florida beaches were crowded with locals and tourists to enjoy the long weekend of Memorial Day, which is considered the beginning of the summer season in the United States.
