The renowned boxing promoter, Óscar de la Hoya, launched a strong message against boxer Ryan García after the criticism he received from the American during a recent interview; The fighter criticized ‘The Golden Boy’ for not having accompanied him at the press conference he held after his loss to Gervonta Davis.
These criticisms were a bit annoying for De La Hoya, since he previously informed that he would not attend with several death threats that he received in those days; Such was the anger of the promoter that he decided to send him some strong messages through social networks that ended in a crossword.
The promoter used his account on the social network Twitter to highlight the failures that the boxer had during the fight against Davis and that ended up causing his defeat on April 22.
“What’s up, Ryan Garcia? It’s been almost two months now, and you’re still crying over the post fight conference? The fault of your defeat is yours and your ‘advisor’ Lupe (Valencia). He’s the only one who pushed you to agree to that crazy rehydration clause, and that’s why you lost. mature. Take responsibility for that, ”he stressed.
“Also, you keep saying that Tank’s team offered you more support than me, blah blah blah. They set you up to lose with that rehydration clause, and more importantly, Al Haymon didn’t even show up all week. In fact, he never shows up. Do you think that’s support?” added ‘The Golden Boy’.
Garcia responds
The 24-year-old boxer decided not to remain silent in the face of Óscar de la Hoya’s rude messages and assured that he is “tired” of the constant “disrespect” that the promoter carries out against him, a fact that has generated discord between the two.
“Okay, friend, you have everything very clear. I’m tired of you disrespecting me my entire career, and thinking none of it matters. Loyalty and common sense was lost in your head. Stop treating people that way and thinking that they will just accept how you treat them,” he said.
“You know I’m about to fight him, and you go and act like his super friend. You don’t care about your fighters. I’m tired of all that falsehood. Stop acting and be real for once in your life. I could respect you more if you only told me the truth, but money only moves you. I don’t like you,” Garcia concluded.
