The victories for Red Bull in Formula 1 continue. The Dutchman Max Verstappen took the Spanish Grand Prix this Sunday and added his fifth victory in seven races so far this season. For his part, the Mexican Sergio “Checo” Pérez, Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull, was in fourth position.

In this way, the 25-year-old driver achieved his 40th victory in F1 by dominating the Grand Prix from pole position to the race from start to finish, reinforcing his lead at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya after reaching the finish line ahead of the two drivers of the Mercedes team, the British Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

For their part, the Spanish Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) and Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) finished the Spanish GP in fifth and seventh place, respectively. Verstappen is the undisputed leader of the Drivers’ World Championship with 170 points, 53 more than “Checo” Pérez, who is second. Fernando Alonso is third with 99 points.

Red Bull remains at the forefront of the Constructors’ World Championship with 287 points, above Mercedes, which has 152. Aston Martin is third with 134 units.

Formula 1 will resume in a couple of weeks at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada, while the Austrian Grand Prix will be held on the first weekend of July at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.
