argentina-and-uruguay-will-use-their-world-cups-as-the-main-support-for-the-2030-world-cup-bid

Argentina and Uruguay remain committed to organizing the 2030 World Cup and now the executive director of the Juntos 2030 candidacy, Michael Boys, said that they will go with everything and for this they will take as their main base the most recent titles that the South American teams have achieved.

La Albiceleste will take as its main push the world championship they won in the Qatar 2022 World Cup while La Celeste will rely on the title of the past U-20 World Cup that they won a couple of weeks ago in Argentina.

Boys offered statements from the premises of the Paraguayan Football Association (APF), in the city of Luque, where the four countries held a seminar organized by the Corporación Juntos 2030, the entity presented last November in Santiago de Chile and with which They seek to promote and develop the regional candidacy for the World Cup that year.

“The last element that I think distinguishes us, that makes us unique, is that nowhere else in the world does soccer have the social relevance that it has in these four countries, in this corner of South America, and that has incalculable value. ”, he added.

The Minister of the National Sports Secretariat of Paraguay, Diego Galeano, the president of the APF, Robert Harrison, and the general secretary of Conmebol, José Astigarraga, were present together with Boys.

The Juntos 2030 Corporation is preparing to present the joint candidacy of these four countries at the next FIFA Congress, which was postponed to the last quarter of 2024.

Spain, along with Portugal and Morocco have also announced the presentation of their candidacy, to which Ukraine was initially added, to organize the competition, which in 2030 will celebrate its centenary.

Saudi Arabia, Greece and Egypt also showed intention of a joint candidacy, although that interest was rejected last Friday.
