The tragedy has engulfed the world of the NFL after learning that the former ‘quarterback’ of the New England Patriots, Ryan Mallett, died after drowning on a beach in Miami, Florida, as announced on Tuesday by the team itself that was the first to pronounce on this unfortunate fact.

“The New England Patriots are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden and unexpected passing of former quarterback Ryan Mallett,” the multi-champion NFL team said.

Likewise, the organization expressed its solidarity with the family of the former player and his friends. “Our thoughts are with the Mallett family, his former teammates and everyone mourning the loss of him.”

After registering the incident where the former quarterback lost his life, the health services went to the scene to transfer him to the nearest hospital, however, he arrived without vital signs.

Ryan Mallett was selected by the Patriots in the 2011 NFL Draft, a team he came to as a backup to the legendary Tom Brady until 2014 when he was traded to the Houston Texans.

In the Houston team, he coincided with another great star such as Justin James (JJ) Watt, who was one of those who spoke after the unfortunate fact was known. “Horrible news to read about Ryan Mallett. He left too soon. Rest in peace, brother,” he expressed.

The quarterback finished his career with the Baltimore Ravens in 2017, a team with which he is remembered for his great performance in the dramatic 20-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Ravens’ staunch rival, in week 16 of the season. 2015.

Over seven years in the NFL, Mallett played in 21 games. As a starter, he left a record of three wins and five losses. He had 1,835 passing yards, nine touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.
