“lionel-messi-and-sergio-busquets-come-to-inter-miami-to-compete”,-tata-martino-already-had-his-first-approach-with-his-future-players

Inter Miami has already made its new coach official and the chosen one was the Argentine Gerardo “Tata” Martino, who will take charge of the Florida team to reverse the bad sports moment and try to qualify it for the MLS playoffs.

The Rosario strategist will have two luxury reinforcements from next month. In the attack the world champion Lionel Messi and in the center of the field the former Barcelona Sergio Busquets. Despite the advanced age of both players (Messi 36 and Busquets 35) Tata stated that both come to the team with the mentality of competing.

“We may be in different places, but the way to carry out this race will be only one. Yesterday I spoke with Sergio, and also when we spoke with Leo, we talked about coming to be successful, to compete, to compete well. That happens to us even on a personal level. Sometimes Miami is associated with vacations, we want to compete, ”said the coach at the press conference for his presentation.

Martino already knows Messi and Busquets from his time in Barcelona in the 2013/2014 season and in the Argentine team from 2014 to 2016. For this reason, the coach commented that he contacted both when his arrival in the American team was confirmed.

“I started the talks with Inter Miami before confirming the Messi and Busquets. This opportunity always seemed attractive to me and then I contacted both of them, ”he said.

A challenge that requires immediate results

Inter Miami currently ranks last in the MLS Eastern Conference, it is on a losing streak of 7 straight losses. But the arrival of Messi, Busquets and Martino promises a revival of the team to get into the playoffs.

“People always demand immediate results. The circumstances are what they are. Today we have a problem, I told the players that now we are part of the problem and hopefully soon we will be part of the solution. We have high expectations. We probably need a while,” he explained.

“We have nice challenges. One is to see if we can reach the playoffs, today it seems like something far away, but as long as we have chances we can’t stop trying. The US Open cup sees us in a privileged position (semifinals) and there is also a new cup (the Leagues Cup between MLS and Liga MX clubs) that gives us great enthusiasm”, closed the Argentine.
