washington-woman-buys-a-lottery-“scratch-off”-that-reminded-her-of-her-deceased-mother-and-wins-$1-million

A Washington woman, whose name was not released, never imagined that a fun memory of her late mother would lead her to win a $1 million lottery prize.

The Washington State Lottery released the curious case of this winner, identified only as JL, who decided to invest $20 in some lottery tickets while shopping for groceries at a local Safeway.

The woman hadn’t discovered the “Let It Ride” Scratch-Off game, but the name caught her eye, as she and her mother used to play a casino game with the same name.

JL left the store with her purchases and decided to scratch off the ticket in her car, getting a big surprise to discover that she had won $1 million. Somewhat incredulous, he got out of his vehicle and re-entered the establishment to check the result of his lottery ticket in the machine, thus confirming that, indeed, he had won that amount of money.

The lucky winner plans to use part of her prize money to take her husband on a cruise.
