draymond-green-agrees-to-a-4-year,-$100-million-extension-with-the-golden-state-warriors

After several weeks of uncertainty in which Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors had not been able to reach an agreement for his continuity in the team, both parties would have managed to close a contract extension.

This is how it informs ESPN this Friday and gives details of the agreement, which would be an extension for four seasons and $100 million dollars. In this way Green would reach 15 consecutive seasons wearing the uniform of the franchise, being the only team with which he has played since he was selected as the 35th pick in the second round in the 2012 draft.

A few weeks ago Green had declined the player option for one more year and $27.5 million dollars, however both parties were able to reach an agreement for the extension.

In addition to the “Splash Brothers” (Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson), the center Draymond Green was the third protagonist in the Warriors dynasty who managed to get four championship rings between 2015 and 2022.

Green is a four-time NBA All-Star selection, has been named to eight All-Defensive Teams, including a second-team selection last season, and won Defensive Player of the Year for the 2017 season.

Last season the 33-year-old Green averaged 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. In a fairly regular year for the Warriors, as they qualified as sixth in the Western Conference and were eliminated in the second round against LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers.

Chris Paul arrives in the bay with one last cartridge

The Warriors reinforced their squad with veterans for next season, as Chris Paul will join the team with a single mission: Get his first NBA ring and the fifth for the franchise in less than 10 years.

The seasoned 38-year-old comes via trade that gives Jordan Poole, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins, plus the 2027 first-round pick and 2030 second-round pick to the Washington Wizard.
