He is currently being sued by one of his daughters and could end up in prison. This is Erika do Rosario Nieves, a 23-year-old girl who in 2022 was judicially recognized as the footballer’s daughter. At that time, the prosecution ordered Eto’o to pay maintenance of $1,529 per month.
However, the former soccer player has not complied with the agreement and now Erika is suing him and asking for jail for the Cameroonian for not complying with the maintenance payments.
According to The Seville newspaper the amount demanded by Samuel’s daughter amounts to $98,000 dollars, for all the time that support was not paid. “He owes his daughter more than five years of pension and continues to defy Justice. Érika’s economy is very weak while Eto’o lives in luxury”, explained the girl’s lawyer.
Eto’o’s daughter was born in 1999 at the Fundación Alarcón hospital in Madrid, the result of an affair between the Cameroonian and Adileusa do Rosario. The young woman’s mother affirms that when the athlete heard the news about her, he accused her of “trying to amass her fortune” even threatening to “interrupt the pregnancy.”

Samuel Eto’o had already had problems with the law, since in 2022 he was sentenced to 22 months in prison for tax evasion in Spain from 2006 to 2009 for a figure of $4 million dollars.
