Given this fact, the captain of the Mexican team, Guillermo ‘Memo’ Ochoa, highlighted the work that Jaime Lozano has done over the last two weeks and considered that it has shown a change even in the thinking of the players that has been generated thanks to ” tact” that he has had during training sessions and in official matches.

Ochoa, who was under the orders of ‘Jimmy’ Lozano during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, assured that the coach has been in charge of knowing the characteristics of each of the players that are within the Mexican team and that has resulted in a positive change in the results to the point of being confident of being able to reach the Gold Cup final and even win the trophy.
“The Mexican soccer player likes to take the lead, to go out and propose, he has some characteristics and based on that, he looks for a way to play and we like to have the ball, to have that possession, to go out, we like to play like that and many times we prefer to lose playing and proposing that in another way as it has been before because we have always gone to play face to face in whatever country and Jimmy has transferred that in the games and in training as well as he did in the Olympics and the group feels of the best way and identified, so much so that it is reflected on the field”, highlighted Ochoa.
Finally, the goalkeeper spoke about the departure of Diego Cocca and the friction he had with some El Tri players during the Concacaf Nations League celebration.
