A man was arrested for his alleged link to a shooting that occurred in the city of Georgetown, South Carolina, during the early hours of this Sunday, according to information from the Georgetown Sheriff’s Office reviewed by the news portal ABC 4 News.

The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Michael Leon White, who was arrested outside a home on Ernestine Drive after a brief confrontation with a Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, according to information released by Sheriff Carter Weaver.

Currently, the shooting for which White was arrested is under investigation by authorities, and it is still unknown what the charges against the suspect will be.

The shooting occurred in the area of ​​Gasque Street and Ernestine Drive at approximately 3:50 AM this Sunday. It was at that time that the police officers arrived in the area, as they received reports that detonations were heard.

According to information given to the press by Sheriff Weaver, a man found at the crime scene was taken to the hospital to be treated for two gunshot wounds he received during the shooting.

Until now, the state of health of the injured victim and his identity are unknown.

According to information given by Democratic Congressman Dan Goldman, more than 21,000 people have died from violent incidents with firearms so far this year in the United States.
