rumor:-yankees-may-be-looking-to-trade-with-padres-to-acquire-juan-soto-and-blake-snell

The recurring problems of the New York Yankees due to injuries in their starting rotation and in the outfield have been the headache of the leadership throughout the 2023 season, but now, according to reports, the Mules would seek to strengthen those two positions with renowned pieces: Blake Snell and Juan Soto.

According to information from Bleacher Report, the Yankees are studying a trade with the San Diego Padres for Soto and Snell to help them get on track to reach the postseason in October.

The pact, which would be one of the most striking in the Major Leagues in recent years, in which up to six players would be involved.

Among the names that could be included in the trade would be two of the most valued prospects of the Yankees and of all the Major Leagues: Oswald Peraza and Jasson Domínguez.

The Venezuelan would be an appetizing piece for San Diego, not only for being the number 53 prospect in all of MLB but also for his versatility as an infielder. Same case with Domínguez who stands out for his ability to play in the outfield.

Additionally, the Yankees would put other promises on the table with great projection: catcher Austin Wells and pitcher Drew Thorpe.

Although the Padres would get rid of one of their greatest offensive pieces such as Juan Soto, as well as a key piece in their rotation with Blake Snell, the truth is that if the change were made, the Padres would be able to strengthen each piece of the field with talents that aim to dazzle in the Majors.

We will have to wait until August 1, the date on which the possibility of agreeing to changes in American organized baseball ends, to find out the outcome of this hypothetical transfer.
