store-clerk-steals-$3-million-winning-lottery-ticket,-but-real-owner-was-finally-able-to-cash-it

A man named Paul Little, who lives in Lakeville, was finally able to get his lottery prize money after waiting several months. This was because a store clerk stole her winning ticket.

On Friday morning, Paul Little went to the Massachusetts Lottery headquarters in Dorchester to collect his $3 million prize. However, someone else narrowly got it, since in January he had bought the winning ticket in a liquor store and left it forgotten on the counter.

The store clerk, identified as 23-year-old Carly Nunes, was allegedly caught on security camera taking the ticket and trying to cash it later.

Nunes has pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery, attempted robbery, filing a false claim and witness intimidation.

Police arrested Nunes and a co-worker who learned of the ticket theft. Ultimately, it was determined that the award would be given to Paul Little.

Last Friday, Little was finally able to collect his $3 million.

“I am very excited today because it is real, with the check in hand. My thanks to everyone who helped me get to this point. There are so many people who worked on my behalf to see me here today, and it is greatly appreciated,” Little said, according to the WPRI portal.
