At least two goats were found inside plastic bags on Long Island in what appeared to be the result of a “ritual sacrifice,” authorities said.
The Suffolk County SPCA made a shocking discovery Thursday in the back of a Burger King at 96 Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale.
The decapitated goats had been placed inside black plastic bags “along with other items that would suggest ritual animal sacrifice,” according to Suffolk County SPCA Chief Roy Gross.
The organization is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the capture and conviction of the people responsible for mutilating the animals for their own gain, the New York Post reported.
“Too often, these gruesome finds are discovered not only by adults, but also occasionally by children,” the SPCA noted.
The Suffolk County SPCA urges the public with any information regarding this case to contact 631-382-7722.
