The New York Police Department is searching for a pervert who tried to sexually assault a woman on a Queens street and subsequently fled the scene when the potential victim fought back.
The 20-year-old woman was walking near the corner of 27th Street and 30th Avenue in Astoria around 2:00 p.m. Saturday when a strange man approached her, tried to reach into her pants. shorts and pushed her against a fence, according to authorities.
The victim confronted the man and fled south on 27th Street, officials said. The woman was not injured in the attack, the New York Post reported.
Officials said the subject was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed approximately 165 pounds.
In a video posted to Twitter by police, the suspect can be seen wearing a gray hoodie, black baseball cap, gray shorts, black sneakers and a red backpack.
New York authorities are asking anyone who can provide information on this case to contact the NYPD tip line at 800-577-TIPS.
