A Florida man was accused of beating a man with a bat after finding him in bed with his wife, according to a CBS2 report.
The subject identified as John Dimmig, 33, from Lake Worth, faces charges of attempted murder after he broke into the victim’s AirBnB, and found him in bed with his wife, according to the aforementioned outlet. .
Responding to 911 reports, deputies arrived at the Lake Worth Beach residence, finding the scene profusely bloody.
The blood led to the bedroom of the apartment, where the victim was left in a serious situation, and lay on his back while holding a towel to his head.
The victim told deputies he was a CT scan technician from Arizona, and was in Florida for work, according to an arrest report.
He also said that Dimmig’s wife was his co-worker, noting that they went out for a drink after work and returned to his AirBnb.
When they were both on the bed in the middle of the act, they suddenly heard the front door open before seeing Dimmig leaping towards him with the metal bat in hand.
In the attack, the subject immobilized him and hit him with the metal club three times, according to the report.
“I felt like he wanted to kill me,” officers reported the victim told him.
Dimmig warned his wife’s lover to stay away from her, but eventually got the suspect out before he fled the scene.
Meanwhile, the woman, whose identity has not been identified, yelled for him to stop, as the victim was bleeding.
Agents later went to Dimmig’s home and found him loading his Hyundai Accent with two bags of clothing.
The wife later signed a search warrant, and authorities found a black bat next to the blood-spattered clothing.
Dimmig, for his part, denied the assault, but has been placed under arrest, and is scheduled to appear in court on July 17.
