maryland-woman-eats-34-burgers-in-10-minutes-in-contest-to-celebrate-independence-day

A contestant in the annual hamburger eating competition held in Washington DC for the Independence Day of the United States, revalidated her title on Monday after eating 34 hamburgers in ten minutes.

After the triumph of the contestant Molly Schuyler, from Maryland, it is the ninth time that she has won the competition that is organized annually by the Z-Burger hamburger restaurant, in the US capital, achieving the prize of $2,000 dollars.

The woman achieved victory after defeating Dan “Killer” Kennedy, from Pennsylvania, who did not achieve victory after eating 32 hamburgers, and Canadian Joel Hansen, who took bronze with 27 eaten hamburgers, reported the EFE agency.

Thirteen professional eaters from across the country attended the contest to try to devour the most burgers in the allotted 10-minute time period. Despite the triumph, the competitor’s performance did not exceed that of 2022, when she ate 37 hamburgers in ten minutes.

Schuyler declared after winning that the competition is “a lot of fun”, and that she competes with both hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as cheesecakes.

The winner, who has been a recurring participant in this kind of contest, jokingly assured that her preparation was to have a buffet for breakfast.

These types of competitions are very popular in the United States, where gulping down food as quickly as possible can earn big prizes for the winner. The most popular competition on Independence Day on July 4 is organized by the Nathan’s hot dog chain in New York.

The big winner of this New York contest has been the legendary Joey Chestnut, who last year won the contest by eating 63 hot dogs in ten minutes.
